EXE Renews GE Contract but Not Cabal

In a day of mixed news for EXE, players of Granado Espada (GE) will be pleased to learn that the game’s contract has been renewed. However, fans of Cabal face disappointment as its contract will not be extended.

Granado Espada Renewal

Electronics Extreme (EXE) has successfully signed a contract renewal with IMC Games, the developer of Granado Espada. This renewal ensures that players can continue to enjoy the game. An update is scheduled for August. At a meeting held on August 14, 2022, EXE’s management mentioned that the service agreement was set for “no less than three years.” This implies a forward-looking contract, though the exact duration was not specified. Given that the original game in South Korea continues to receive updates, this renewal is a positive sign for the community, marking nearly 18 years of ongoing service.

Cabal Contract Not Renewed

Conversely, the situation for Cabal players is grim. EXE announced that it will not be renewing its contract with Est Games, the developer of Cabal. The exact reasons for this decision were not disclosed. Similarly, the Philippines server also announced its closure due to the contract not being renewed, effective from June 11. This indicates a broader issue beyond just Thailand. The game is set to shut down on August 30 at 12:00 PM, with all payment channels already disabled, although players can still access the game until the closure date.

Future Plans and New Releases

Despite the setback with Cabal, EXE plans to launch new games this year. Recently, they released Audition Dance & Date, one of four new titles planned. The next expected release is Tree of Savior M, though the exact date has not been announced. Additionally, there are plans for Granado Espada Mobile, which has already launched in South Korea. While EXE has confirmed its intent to bring Granado Espada Mobile to their service, the specifics regarding the release method and timing remain unclear.
